The national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, Saudia, has stated that it will be adding over 10 new destinations to its global flight network by 2025. Following a 16% increase in foreign passengers the previous year, this strategic expansion demonstrates the airline's dedication to bridging global gaps and satisfying growing demand for travel.
Vienna, Austria; Venice, Italy; Larnaca, Cyprus; Athens and Heraklion, Greece; Nice, France; Malaga, Spain; Bali, Indonesia; Antalya, Turkey; El Alamein, Egypt; and Salalah, Oman, are among the new travel destinations. Saudi Arabia's already vast network of more than 100 locations across four continents will be strengthened by these additions.
"After last year's operational success, we've implemented a strategic plan for 2025 to ensure continued excellence and meet rising international travel demand," said H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group. He underlined that thorough feasibility studies and visitor preferences are the foundation for choosing new locations.
This expansion is in line with Saudi Arabia's National Tourism Strategy, which seeks to increase the GDP contribution of tourism, generate 1.6 million employment, and draw 150 million tourists by 2030. The additional flights will complement the Air Connectivity Program, which since its inception in 2021 has added more than 60 new direct routes.
With a current fleet of 147 Boeing and Airbus aircraft and plans to add another 118 in the upcoming years, Saudi Arabia is well-positioned to expand. With over 530 daily flights, the airline hopes to expand its market share globally and improve connection between the Kingdom and the rest of the globe.
Saudia is dedicated to offering outstanding travel experiences that are marked by comfort and genuine Saudi hospitality, even as it expands its global footprint.
